Renette (she/her/hers)
My name is Renette Tchocksi and I identify as African American.. I am a student at The University of Georgia majoring in biology with a minor in biomedical physiology on the pre-med track. Part of my motivation for joining the ACCESS Lab was due to being a minority in STEM and wanting to learn more about STEM equity along with my mom being the first woman in the family to work in STEM (a nurse working with special needs kids from K-12).
At UGA, I am a member of the Minority Student Science Association, Spoon University, and Heart for the Homeless. When I have free time, I enjoy baking, working out at the gym, going on walks, traveling, spending quality time with friends, and trying new food spots. After graduation, I plan to continue my education in medical school, and eventually become a cardiologist and open up my own practice one day. I would like to have a clinic that will also aid populations that are underrepresented or may be low income.
